THE STORY OF VILA MIR
Vila Mir – meaning House of Peace – was built in 1940 as a family guesthouse. From the very beginning, it was a place where guests came to relax, enjoy nature and experience genuine hospitality. Over the years, many foreign visitors returned time and again, making Vila Mir a place of lasting memories and a tradition of returning guests.
To this day, Vila Mir remains in the hands of the same family. Following a complete renovation, it reopened in 2023 with a new vision – as an exclusive holiday retreat for travellers who appreciate peace, quality and personal hospitality.
One of Vila Mir's most distinctive features is its exclusivity. There is only one apartment in the entire house, allowing you to enjoy complete privacy throughout your stay. The house and spacious garden are yours alone, while I live upstairs and am always happy to help with local recommendations or anything you may need during your stay.
Nestled in nature, Vila Mir offers uninterrupted views of the Karawanke Mountains and the Julian Alps. This exceptionally peaceful setting, just five kilometres from Lake Bled, has delighted guests for generations, together with the warm and welcoming atmosphere that has always defined this house.
Today, Vila Mir combines its rich heritage with modern comfort. The stylishly renovated 88 m² apartment, spacious garden, sustainable energy solutions and personal hospitality create a unique place for relaxation, outdoor adventures and unforgettable experiences in Slovenia.
